day 6: Shivaduti: Nitya of Communication
Om Shivadutiyai Namaha
Sun: 11 Aquarius
Moon: 26 Aries, 75 degrees from Sun, First Quarter Moon
Inner Moon: days 8-14, follicular/proliferation
Moon Vibes:
The warrior experiencing tension between self and group. Concerned with justice in the organizations and groups. Relates with vernal equinox and Ostara/Easter. In tantra yoga, this is the descending in-breath (prana-vayu) from third-eye to the soft palate, relates with midday and the element is fire. In the hero’s journey, we are taking inspired action, feeling tension and resistance in group efforts, wanting to differentiate. Feeling strong and empowered to cross initiation threshold. Blazing new trails which could become new systems for society. First quarter Moon relates with follicular and proliferation hormones, building up of estrogen, uterine walls thickening, eggs maturing. This phase of lunar cycle can be powerful and exciting. Use it for courtship, dates night, seduction, and rituals that focus on building and growing. Use foods that nurture and support. Warm and comforting foods like root vegetables and curry spices.
- Moon in Aries corresponds with head, arteries, gums.
- Waxing phases are for growth, increasing, building up.
- Thinking of Aries’s assertive nature and waxing Moon, where do you want to direct your energy today and tomorrow? Consider also the Mars and Jupiter aspects with Moon.
Moon in Aries making a harmonious 120ish° aspect with ♐♂️Mars. Aries and Mars are firey, assertive, direct, fierce like midwives and warriors. With Moon placed in action oriented ♈, our inner mood is confident, courageous, and capable. ♂️Mars in ♐Sag has ambition and places to go. Moon centered actions: self-care, closure on jobs, relationships, projects that are not moving forward. Closure means you approach the topic, close the door on prior terms of engagement and decide the terms of engagement. If there is another party involved, you can include them in this process if you want to build bridges.
Nutrition suggestion:
Are you feeling bloated? Retaining water, emotions, or pulling energy inwards? Moon in Aries wants to be active and sweaty. If you can sweat, do that! Refresh your fluids with celery juice. I’ve been adding green apples and a little ginger to my celery juice while Moon was in Aries. Fire in the blood needs action and refreshening. Your body does this, but it’s better with conscious effort on your part.
Ritual:
Call in sacred space, reestablish boundaries and give thanks. Light a candle to represent the fire in your blood. The eyes are the fire of perception. Use them to connect with the fire in your blood as represented by the candle’s flame. Gaze at the flame with no particular thought or intention other than to focus your awareness on the flame. Do this for about 3 min. Next, focus on the flow of blood circulation that connects the eyes, pineal gland, and organs along your spine. As you inhale, imagine the fire of perception and blood flowing to your pelvis. On the exhale, imagine this flow reversed, up into the pineal gland. Circulate this fire breathing pattern between pelvis and pineal gland for about 10 minutes. When you are complete, take a few minutes to journal about any sensations, impressions, or insights you received. Close sacred space and give thanks.
