“The oral microbiome directly impacts systemic health, including gut function.”
You are constantly swallowing saliva which enters your gut. The health of your mouth impacts your whole body.
Chewing zylitol granules makes your mouth build up more saliva, like a waterfall of mineralizing fluids that benefit tooth enamel and heals cavities. The increased saliva also does other good things like neutralize acids and introduce healthy bacteria into your gut.
Did you know that bacteria are coded with their own DNA? Some are coded for generation of life (good bacteria) and others are coded for death and destruction of life. We need them both.
The natural sugars of zylitol cannot be digested by bad bacteria, the ones who fockshtup and cause decay.
Since the bad bacteria can’t produce the necessary acids to digest the zylitol sugars, they can no longer hold on to your teeth and gums. So they die, no longer going on to colonize your gut and brain.
The good bacteria love how your mouth is less nasty, I mean, less acidic. So, they begin to flourish, supporting oral health. Gut health is improved because the digestive enzymes in your saliva become balanced and badass, which enhances digestion and overall well-being.
I got the Himalayan Boutique Zylitol toothpaste, fluoride free of course. I made this zylitol granules mouth wash and it has been a game changer.  The pubmed article (attached below) recommends five to seven grams of the granules daily, broken up into 3 or 4 uses per day.
My protocol:
  • Oil pulling with coconut oil
  • brush with zylitol toothpaste
  • scrape my tongue
  • floss and rinse
  • Then put a small spoonful of the zylitol mouth wash in my mouth and chew and swish. My mouth is drenched within a few seconds. I swish for a minute or two and then spit it out.
Within the first few days of doing this protocol, I noticed an increased ease in my digestive functions, cessation of bleeding gums after flossing, pleasant morning breath, cheerful moods, and sustained energy levels throughout the day.
