Lalita day 2: Nityaklinna: Nitya of Wetness

Om Nityaklinnayai Namaha

Sun: 6 Aries
Moon: 1 Taurus, 24 degrees from Sun
Inner Moon: days 1-7, low progesterone, low estrogen, bleeding

Moon Vibes:

The ambiguous presence that brings gifts of creative potential. Now that we are in the darkest phase of the Moon cycle, the obscure vision makes for reimagining new possibilities. This phase is where we plant new seeds of intention. New Moon relates to Winter Solstice and Yule. In tantra yoga, this is the merging of Moon and Sun from third-eye to crown of the head. In and out breath unite at the crown of the head in breath pause (kumbhaka) where the magic of integration of opposites happens. In the hero’s journey, this is the call to adventure. The phase of the inner Moon cycle related with new Moon is menstruation. Low progesterone, low estrogen and bleeding is present. Take time to rest and reflect. Great phase for receiving dreams and insight. Use foods with higher protein, nurturing, and easy to digest.

Moon in : Taurus

Moon in Taurus today wanting simple pleasures and stability but Uranus is there showing us that every moment is an opportunity for change. Maybe the new form of stability is flexibility. Are you okay with not knowing what happens next? Moon squaring up with Saturn feels like self-discipline. How are you with that? Be your boss. Set your schedule and follow it.

Nutrition suggestion:

Yummy. Delicious. Drip drops of nature’s sweet juices gratifying your senses. Today is about abundance, receptivity and enjoyment. Honey is pure magic for the throat and vocal cords. Honey makes your voice pleasant and sweet sounding. I recommend a delicious homemade elixir of blended nut, seed, bean, rice or cow milk with your favorite spices and drizzled with local honey. Spices could be turmeric, ginger, cardamom, saffron or all of those together! Get creative and follow your animal body’s craving.

  • Blend the spices and milk in a blender.
  • Warm up the blend in a saucepan on the stove.
  • Pour into your favorite mug.
  • Drizzle with local, raw honey from bee keepers who love bees.

Allow the tea to coat your throat. Pay attention to all the sensations from the smells, tastes, textures and how it all feels.

Ritual:

Tonight the moon has shifted from Aries to Taurus, from creative fire to grounded earth.  Taurus teaches us the wisdom of embodiment, our body as the temple that houses our soul, our body as the place we receive our senses . Under this sensual Taurus moon we will practice ritualizing simple pleasures and sensory experiences with a bathing ritual.

Taurus Moon Bathing Ritual:

Begin just as you have the past two nights… light the candle on your altar, take a few conscious breaths, become fully present here and call in sacred space.  Take a few moments to decompress in your dream journal, recalling potent moments from your day and noting what you are grateful for today.  What did you learn today? What did you remember today?

Now, carry your altar candle with you into your bathroom, in this way you expand the sacred space of your altar into this room.  Craft a bathing ritual that offers an experience for all 5 senses…

  • Taste: Make a cup of tea, your most delicious flavor.
  • Smell: Diffuse essential oils or light incense.
  • Hearing: Play music or nature sounds that are pleasurable to listen to.
  • Sight: Create lighting in this space that is soothing to your eyes.
  • Touch: The Bath! Choose to take a bath, shower, or simply wash your feet and hands.  Being fully present to the sensation of the touch of the warm water on your skin.
  • ***Extra sensory pleasure… warm some body oil to massage your whole body with after you finish your bath.

When you are finished in this room carry your candle back to your altar and close sacred space from here.  Giving thanks to your body, your senses, and your guides.

Astrology info to consider:

Sun illuminates our wounds/gifts (Chiron) and our inner wilderness (Lilith).  It’s like taking a flashlight into the dark basement of you. What did you put down there and forget about?  Time to go in and make some choices.  There may be some dusty skills(or desire to learn some) that can be of benefit now.

Menstruation cycle and Moon:

What phase of your inner Moon cycle are you in? What hormones are most prominent? How does this relate with outer Moon’s new phase? Remember, your cycle and Moon cycle do not need to match. Read more about the correspondences here.

Dreams:

Did you receive any dream images last night? Take a moment to reflect on them, write them in your journal and find a resonate object to place on your dream altar. To build a relationship with your dreams, give them attention and respect. Love them in their wholeness. This will surely attract more dreaming.

  • Write down the date of dream for future reference.
  • Write and talk about dreams in present tense.
  • Keep your dreams in your regular journal to integrate sleeping dream reality with waking dream reality.
  • Give your dream a title in your journal.
  • Create images and doodles within the text of your dream entries.
  • Make a note of how you’re feeling in the dream and upon awakening.
