Moon Vibes:
The warrior experiencing tension between self and group. Concerned with justice in the organizations and groups. Relates with vernal equinox and Ostara/Easter. In tantra yoga, this is the descending in-breath (prana-vayu) from third-eye to the soft palate, relates with midday and the element is fire. In the hero’s journey, we are taking inspired action, feeling tension and resistance in group efforts, wanting to differentiate. Feeling strong and empowered to cross initiation threshold. Blazing new trails which could become new systems for society. First quarter Moon relates with follicular and proliferation hormones, building up of estrogen, uterine walls thickening, eggs maturing. This phase of lunar cycle can be powerful and exciting. Use it for courtship, dates night, seduction, and rituals that focus on building and growing. Use foods that nurture and support. Warm and comforting foods like root vegetables and curry spices.

Nutrition suggestion:
Sweet potatoes with curry spices are great for grounding. Typically curry spices are slightly warming, so uses them according to your needs.
Cooked in oven, sweet potatos are more drying, which is not favorable for Gemini Moon. Steamed, boiled, or made into a sweet potato soup (which is my personal favorite) will be better. I leave the skin on, but you can remove it. Cut the potatoes and cook in water. If you add ghee or oil, do it after cooking, not during.
Ritual:
Today we will practice a grounding ritual to affirm our intentions for this lunar cycle with a foundation of gratitude.
Find somewhere to sit and create sacred space (ideally somewhere outside). As you arrive in your seat take an extra moment to feel the connection between your body and the ground that supports you, noticing all the points of contact.
- Allow all your awareness to anchor into the the feeling of being in a body sitting on earth.
- Expand your awareness to perceive the size of earth in relation to the amount of space your body is taking up in your seat.
- Place your palms over your heart and begin to shift your awareness to your breath, feel your breath moving in and out of your heart space.
- Awaken your essential gratitude, by feeling how grateful you are for these essentials of life… your breath, your body and the earth.
Stay in this grounded gratitude practice as long as feels good to you, when you emerge from your practice spend timing writing in your journal. Write a list of all that you are grateful for today. Gratitude can be like plant fertilizer, giving a boost of vital nutrients to our growing dream seeds. Where could you pour more gratitude for what you already have to support what you are growing?

Sometimes I think that a dream wasn’t important or the imagery are things I’d rather not remember. I don’t immediately write it down, but rather, brush it off. This is a mistake in building a relationship with dream life. Make it a habit to immediately roll over and write down any impressions, imagery, feelings or thoughts upon waking. Even if you initially think it’s not worthy. It really is. The process of waking up and recording first feeling, thought, or dream imagery develops the relationship with the part of your mind where all things must pass through.
