day 9: Nitya: Nitya of Eternal Prescence
Om Nityayai Namaha
Sun: 14 Pisces
Moon: 7 Cancer, 113 degrees from Sun, First Quarter Moon
Inner Moon: days 8-14, follicular/proliferation
Moon Vibes:
The warrior experiencing tension between self and group. Concerned with justice in the organizations and groups. Relates with vernal equinox and Ostara/Easter. In tantra yoga, this is the descending in-breath (prana-vayu) from third-eye to the soft palate, relates with midday and the element is fire. In the hero’s journey, we are taking inspired action, feeling tension and resistance in group efforts, wanting to differentiate. Feeling strong and empowered to cross initiation threshold. Blazing new trails which could become new systems for society. First quarter Moon relates with follicular and proliferation hormones, building up of estrogen, uterine walls thickening, eggs maturing. This phase of lunar cycle can be powerful and exciting. Use it for courtship, dates night, seduction, and rituals that focus on building and growing. Use foods that nurture and support. Warm and comforting foods like root vegetables and curry spices.
Moon in Cancer:
Relates with womb, breasts, ovaries, stomach, mucousa.
Nutrition suggestion:
Foods and drinks that are nourishing, comforting, and soothing to the mucous membranes are beneficial when Moon is in Cancer. For tonight, let’s have golden milk sweetened with date syrup. If you don’t have date syrup, use honey but definitely eat a date or 3. To make golden milk or mylk:
- 1 1/2 cups hemp, coconut, or any milk of your choice.
- 1 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp coconut oil or ghee
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
- Sweetener of choice (date syrup, molasses, honey, etc.)
Whisk all ingredients (except sweetner) together in saucepan. Serve and drink warm.
Ritual:
Today the moon will be in Cancer all day, emotions tides are at the forefront of our awareness. Emotion is energy in motion, like music and dance. Tonight create an expressive dance ritual! Call in sacred space and put on that song that always make you wanna move, turn it up loud, and allow the music to move you! Choose a song that resonates with how you are feeling today or choose a few songs that represent your different moods. Shake fast to an upbeat song and sway slow to a more somber melody. Don’t overthink it, just feel the emotion of the music and allow energy in motion to flow! *Extra energy movement when singing aloud too!

Once you’ve danced to your hearts desire, close sacred space and give thanks!
Astrology info to consider:
Menstruation cycle and Moon:
What phase of your inner Moon cycle are you in? What hormones are most prominent? How does this relate with outer Moon’s follicular/proliferation phase? Remember, your cycle and Moon cycle do not need to match. Read more about the correspondences here.
Dreams:
Over the next week, I’ll share a few of my favorite lucid dream induction techniques. To prepare for the first technique:
- Do your nightly routines for cleansing and closure.
- Write the date and dream incubation (discussed in Aquarius season) if you have something you want to address in dreams.
- Practice tracking events of your day from now backwards.
Technique one: Mnemonically Induced Lucid Dream, MILD. To do this, create a mnemonic phrase like, “Next time I’m dreaming, I will realize I’m dreaming and become lucid.” Mine is “I’m awake in this dream.” The point is to fall asleep holding awareness on your intention to wake up in your dream. Why do this? Because you want to explore below the surface of consciousness. As you progress, you can make changes to patterns that shape your waking reality.
